The Women in Film and Television Louisiana (WiFT-LA) Annual Iris Awards Gala is a prestigious event celebrating the remarkable achievements of Women in the Film, Television, and New Media industries. Held annually, this elegant gala honors trailblazing women who have made significant contributions to entertainment, highlighting their excellence, creativity, and leadership. The Iris Awards Gala brings together industry leaders, influencers, and professionals from across Louisiana and beyond, creating a night of celebration, networking, and inspiration.
 

The event showcases the power of diversity and inclusion, with a strong focus on elevating the voices of women in entertainment and advocating for greater opportunities within the industry. Along with recognizing outstanding individuals, the gala provides a platform to support and empower future generations of women pursuing careers in film and television. Attendees enjoy a sophisticated evening of fine dining, entertainment, and thought-provoking speeches, making the Iris Awards Gala a highlight of the year for the local entertainment community.

The first Iris Award was given in December 2013 to Professor Mari Kornhauser, Screenwriter and Director,one of the writers of hit show “Treme”, a Film Professor at Louisiana State University, and a director and writer of feature films.
